My First Polka Dotted Butt

I never knew a thing about acupuncture until this trip. My back started hurting badly just prior to the flight to LA. It got worse and eventually revealed itself to be sciatica: a condition that isn’t conducive to perpetual driving.

On our day off in San Francisco I happened to be walking in Chinatown where I ducked into a storefront advertising acupuncture. The back room was a sliver with two beds sitting lengthwise. An older Chinese man wearing a lab coat instructed me to take my pants down around my ankles – a great day to have worn my turquoise briefs!

The man’s English wasn’t very good but pain transcends language and where he touched, if I squirmed then he knew to put in a needle. Soon enough my body was covered in tiny needles. I had to go the bathroom but with my pants around my ankles and needles all over my body, that was not going to happen.

No one ever explained to me the part of acupuncture that includes electricity. Suddenly, there were high currents coursing through the lower part of my back and my legs. The pulsations at first hurt but slowly my body absorbed the rhythmic currents and relaxed. I even managed to fall asleep.

I awoke to the needles being taken out and thought it was over. Next thing I know, the man is putting suction cups on my butt sucking the skin in very tightly. What this would do I have no idea.

The next day I felt better but my ass was covered in pink polka dotted welts. Perhaps I should practice some discretion here but I will find a photo and post it when I can.
